Kali

Sitting on the floor surrounded by a collection of burned, ripped and torn debris, my hair wild from lack of care and brushing I must’ve looked like a duller version of a miniature Kali. Furious at myself for the amount of attention I had given these trinkets by destroying them so violently I covered my face with my hands hiding it from view, Ugh I have become one of those women I hate. Overdramatic and self-pitying. Did I really let it get this far? At my mind’s last question I looked again at the carnage of my last relationship. Gifts spanning five years lay in front of me smoldering like wreckage from a tiny war zone.

Still my favorite

Paul Verlaine Claire de Lune

Moonlight

Your soul is like a landscape fantasy,

Where masks and Bergamasks, in charming wise,

Strum lutes and dance, just a bit sad to be

Hidden beneath their fanciful disguise.

Singing in minor mode of life's largesse

And all-victorious love, they yet seem quite

Reluctant to believe their happiness,

And their song mingles with the pale moonlight,

The calm, pale moonlight, whose sad beauty, beaming,

Sets the birds softly dreaming in the trees,

And makes the marbled fountains, gushing, streaming--

Slender jet-fountains--sob their ecstasies.

Richness of the Soul

Tea Bubble

Running Wild

Sometimes she has imagined what it would be like to fly, to live in the river, to run like a horse. She has dreamed of that freedom, that power, and fears the wildness in herself that wants to live as beasts live, moved purely by need and desire. She has felt torn between the heat of her limbs and the thoughts in her mind telling her to be careful and good and always calm.

Don't scream or cry, don't run to him and throw yourself at his feet, pleading for him to take you in his arms, don't strip off your clothes and run naked to the water, wild with wanting.
